hey there! i’ve been searching the internet for a solid few days to find help on my own with this same issue you mentioned that i would hopefully run into. i’m really enjoying the sims 2 and i’d like to create my own little town.

a very popular mini-game once upon a time in the sims series were achievements, which are things such as becoming queen of the world, becoming the best sim at anything, etc. the game had never built this into the base game. you had to buy the entire series pack and buy all the expansion packs to add this in.

most of the new content is pretty common stuff already. it’s getting repetitive and it’s pretty uninspired. lazy programming but when you are around and there are only so many things you can do. sims are very repetitive. you have the same stuff over and over again.

you can create a new family in the sims 2. there is a button next to ‘create a family’ in the main menu. you must create a family, then you can move them to that family! you can also make them an independent family.

go to the my stuff tab and select undelete my stuff. go to the home tab. click on ‘my family’ in the left menu. click on the header tab, then the one that says ‘family’. click on undelete my stuff. repeat this for every family that you have. i believe it will restore a lot of the older saves you had.

i guess on windows 98 you should use high color, and high quality for graphics. i’m not quite sure how your game works, but most high quality games i’ve used have their own rules for the resolution, i think. support_windows 98
windows vista has absolutely no issues with the sims 2. it usually runs great, and there is almost no need to download updates. i am on the beta stage of the 4gb patch for vista, and so far it has not had any problems. sims 2 memory

oh, cindy! how i wish i knew about this post so long ago! i have been trying to play sims 2 for ages on my win10. although i think the sims 3 and 4 have their points, there is just no other game i love to play as much and i definitely did not want to lose all the stories from the neighborhoods i had developed along the years. thank you so much for your post! it was so helpful and clear! my weekends are going to be so much more fun from now on!!
