Twilight Saga Breaking Dawn Part 1 [2011. DivX. To be honest, I can’t see the point in watching. At the time of writing, this is the feature-length version of the trailer. It is not yet subtitled, so you will have to take my word for it that it is there. Don’t let that put you off though, because I’ve seen a few of these things, and they are superb. This trailer’s sheer scale is staggering, it’s like watching a warship head off to war. In the shadow of the likes of Avatar and Star Wars, it’s fair to say that The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 needs to put in some serious overtime to keep itself on par with those films.

the first part of the twilight saga films combines romance, comedy, adventure and horror. breaking dawn finds our heroines on the road once more, travelling into the badlands to take care of matters. their mission now is to track down the last remaining member of the volturi before he leads a rebellion. not only that but it’s also the birth of their first child, and the end to the romantic saga. by the end of the film breaking dawn loses all sight of the silly tagline; twilight: blood, ties and baby teeth. with such an epic story as this, it feels like the film makers took their time to give us the best they could. it certainly shows and the film is beautifully shot. inthe first part of the twilight saga films combined romance, comedy, adventure and horror. inthe last third of the film, the editing gets so fast paced that the actors don’t have any time to think or react, which i thought would have been interesting. the ending is very unlikely and this immediately sours your experience, which does frustrate me a little bit. however, it was in no way a bad film, in fact, it was a brilliant piece of entertainment. i loved it. on the whole, 8/10.
