A sword-wielding warrior prowls the land in search of the elusive giant rat, known as the ‘Suzerain.’ As the warrior starts his quest, accompanied by a young boy, he notices his weapon is missing, but he is pretty sure he knows where it is. Carefully, they check a pair of unexpected and well-kept items, which might just be the clue they seek. Together, the swordsman and the boy delve into the twisted world of enemies, giant rats, and potions. They have their quest… and they’re going to need help.

The Art & Game Design of a Double Fine Game
Broken Age is the first Double Fine game to be designed by independent artists and game designers. Through Kickstarter we were able to fund talented artists, animators, and designers to add quality elements to the game. Most importantly, this allowed for 2D artwork to be developed for Double Fine games, not just 3D games. The game was written to work within this expanded visual style.

Many of our games have featured extensive concept art and design. In Broken Age, we asked the creators of each piece of concept art to illustrate the game we wanted them to work on and in some cases, the artist had chosen their own project to work on. In other cases, we borrowed the concept art for Broken Age from other Kickstarters that had seen success and were willing to gift their art for the project. Vintage fighters come in all styles from the plain glass and metal to the more usual “handbuilt or custom” configuration. Traditionally, it is the expert builders who demand great attention to detail to see if a job is going to be a good one, and in doing so, they can often create a more valuable piece in the process.
One such example is the MP014 Stern Kaettei (The Flying Tiger Fighter) KTom1d out of the Citizen’s Collection (see Citizen’s Collectors Club at the bottom of the site. One can find out about the builder, how to contact him, and reviews on there and on this site as well). I had both OWI collection books (Mike & Mike’s Warbirds & Aircraft Profile Series) and a few items from that collection, but never had the Kaettei, so it was an easy choice for me to decide to get one also. I knew that whoever built it, was an expert, if not the most popular builder, but there’s that little airshow bitty that told me that this was where I could have one of my own without going heavily in debt.
It being finished in 1942, it had to have been offered at an Airshow type display during the period where the fighter configurations differed from what appeared in our favorite Japanese magazines. This one for example had a twin tail and an unusual fin. So I must have been watching the Kamikaze/bogey shows on display at the time of purchase, or around 1939 perhaps. I’m not sure where they fit in either in relation to the war.
The Citizen’s Collection description of the aircraft says that it went to the famous Nuremberg air show of that year along with more designs that “showed the man who was at the controls of one of the preeminent WWII fighters” (they were speaking of the Mitsubishi A6M2 Type 22)
The build log on the website suggests that it was built by Jeremiah Luce and claims that the air show was in Lido di Camaiore Italy in summer of 1931. This is contradicted by the description on the Citizen’s page which claims that it was built in 1930. Perhaps the website user is just a little confused about which year of the air show is meant.
Perhaps for several years after the start of the Second World War, the various aircraft makers displayed their works at the various Air Shows. In general, when
