The next day Hal Puthoff filed away what he had seen, but no further training was done at that time. Pat Price was told not to attempt further visits of the target site. Within several weeks Hal Puthoff began telepathically contacting Pat Price to attempt training. After a few unsuccessful attempts, Pat Price became upset with Hal and felt that she was being overcharged by Hal for his services. She began doing her own remote viewing over the target site. Hal always paid her, even though Hal paid her with several hundred dollars over her total fee. Hal paid her $25 an hour for the privilege of her contacting him. Hal insisted that her charge for the target tele-psychic contacts totaled $175 an hour.
Pat Price agreed to become involved and the deep core project began. Although initially the money was paid by the CIA to Pat Price and Hal Puthoff for the information learned from them, they later obtained a small grant from the Office of Naval Research. In 1981 Pat Price was contacted by the CIA and had to report information and training with other subjects. In 1984, she was told that her services were no longer needed. Hal Puthoff and Pat Price had another chance to contact the Deepcore target when Hal was asked to become involved with Project Star Gate. Pat Price was paid to work on this project with Hal.
