the high quality has a lot to do with the fact that it features a tight integration of the ldk/hdiu/hdfusion3 components. the ability to use the same ldk as for the linker platform for a fraction of the price and a fraction of the time is just a bonus. the native dmr/fm/dab+/dab+fm/rds, diversity reception (4x), hybrid dab+/dab+fm/dmr/fm/dab+ with full dab+fm memory and the superb 2-2.4ghz rf and if switching for fm/dab+ is available without issues and is very efficient for a single band receiver with a 3s lithium pack. no need to waste time finding the right mix of antennas and connectors for a particular band and no fear of rf collisions that can be a problem with a hv or low power processor. you can go as far as discovering you no longer have the areas needed on your antenna to reach the specific frequencies you desire (because you won’t be able to receive them for a month or two..). you will just need to modify the under the panel harness file for the ldk.

the only way to get hold of it is with 2gig adder / ace eu. this works with the twr-150, tdt-400 and tdt-200 and can switch on the vertex (with radio sound) even if it is in the off position. it is a great way to use your radio while you have it on charge!
the radio software needs specific parameters stored on the radio. when this software is connected to a fresh vertex 534 (with no software installed) it finds the radio and all is fine. when software is first installed it requires the user to enter the correct parameters to let it know what radio it is attached to. this does not keep these values on the new vertex (it should store them) and so next time software is used it will overwrite the values in the new vertex. for this reason the radio needs to be reset after first use to prevent the radio’s parameters being overwritten.
navigating the drivers is rather a breeze since all versions of drivers can be installed manually, except the win10 with 3.9.2 driver where you need to open c:\windows\drivers\meguid_11d9.drv file and add the file so that win10 will boot in win10 mode. i had to add the file as the meguid_11d9.drv file is automatically added and activated, then i launched win10 again and it booted in win10 mode. the meguid_11d9.drv file will be added automatically if not there.
once the utility is downloaded, extracted, and stored as vertexevxutility-version-x.x.x executable. please read the notes on the vertexevxutility section in this documentation to see the features available to you.
once downloaded, you will need to extract the vertexevxutility-version-x.x.x to a folder on your system. you will also need to extract the meguid-version-x.x file to the same location as vertexevxutility-version-x.x.
