Can I run my site from my FTP or localhost?
By default, VidLoop runs from a web server, which is configured to pull media from your web server (be it FTP, Apache, Lighttpd, IIS, IIS Express, or your localhost). In order for your site to work while it’s on a localhost server, you’ll need to configure VidLoop to pull media from a local directory.
To do this, head over to the VidLoop Preferences, hit the Options button, and look for the Local Media Settings.
Once inside the Local Media Settings, you’ll want to select an FTP Server and Directory. This is where you can type in a specific path to your media.
Be sure to copy the files that you wish to use in place of the existing video files. If you need to make any changes to the existing files, simply use the Replace all option found in the dropdown.
Now that you’ve configured local media, VidLoop will start pulling media from your localhost, and save it to your media directory. Note that this is different than what’s going on in the web server.
