WeatherDesktop is a useful little tool for displaying current weather details on your computers desktop.
Enter your postcode, click ‘Update’ and WeatherDesktop will download the current weather data from Australia’s The Weather Channel which you can also see on Foxtel or Austar.
The downloaded data is graphically displayed as a set of icons which represent the different weather conditions along with the forecasted minimum and maximum temperatures.
Check the ‘Add to Windows Startup Menu’ to have WeatherDesktop automatically start when your computer is booted.The ‘Update Period’ value determines the number of minutes until WeatherDesktop will recheck the data for your postcode.
It seems that this data is only updated a few times each day so theres no point in doing this too often.

– Weather data is only updated once a day or once every 1 hour (whichever comes first).
– Searches multiple stations at once.
– The minimum and maximum temperature is also updated.
– Postcode/Place name/Location to search data for.
– Only shows current weather on the desktop.
– You can also view the forecasted weather for 5 days and 7 days.
– Press the button that looks like a magnifying glass on your desktop and the weather will be opened up in your web browser.

Weather Desktop is a simple little utility for displaying current weather data on your desktop.
You can adjust the location of the icons, the update period and the file size limit.
Weather Desktop can download weather data from Australia’s weather Channel (Foxtel/Austar) or you can add your own weather data file.
This can be any text file with the country name and postcode on the first line. Each line should end with a new line, and not with a carriage return.
